El pasado lunes 30 de marzo, nuestro analista Borja de Castro intervino en RTVE para explicar cómo el aumento de la tensión entre Irán y EE. UU. está generando una volatilidad inmediata en los mercados energéticos. Un nuevo mensaje de Donald Trump, advirtiendo ataques contra infraestructuras estratégicas (incluidas centrales eléctricas, pozos petrolíferos y la isla de Kharg, desde donde sale el 90 % del crudo que exporta Irán) provocó un repunte inmediato del precio del petróleo.

Borja destacó que el estrecho de Ormuz permanece como el epicentro del riesgo global. Si se garantiza su apertura y el flujo de crudo desde la región, la presión sobre los precios energéticos disminuiría y los mercados podrían estabilizarse. Sin embargo, si el conflicto escala o se mantienen las amenazas sobre las exportaciones iraníes y de otros productores del Golfo, el petróleo podría tensionarse de nuevo, reduciendo la oferta mundial y elevando el riesgo geopolítico en los mercados internacionales.
